Bracknell Town’s on Fire with Three Victories in a Row

Robins are really on a roll this month, scoring victory after victory in their latest clashes with Blackfield and Langley (2 – 1), Lydney Town (4 – 1) and Ardley United (1 – 0). Bracknell now has great odds at winning the next game of FA Vase against Coleshill Town, which you can also benefit from with this exclusive William Hill Promo Code 2018 reserved for new members only.

Bracknell achieved its first victory in a row against Blackfield and Langley, securing its place in the fifth round of FA Vase as one of the top 16 clubs in the competition. The game took place at Larges Lane on Tuesday, 9 January, following the two sides 3-3 draw three days earlier. On minute 10, TJ Bohane fired the Robins into a lead and Seb Bowerman doubled it from the penalty spot soon after. Although Blackfield & Langley did put up a fight in the second half, the Watersiders never really threatened to do some serious damage. It was only when Franklyn Clarke scored an 81st-minute penalty that brought Bracknell fans’ nerves to the edge, but the defence did a great job to secure a deserved victory.

The second clash with Lydney Town came at the Uhlsport Hellenic Football League Premier Division game on Saturday, 13 January. Lewis Halford grabbed a 10th-minute lead for visitors, which came as a bit of a shock, because Lydney had lost their previous five games. However, Bracknell got back on track pretty soon. Just 6 minutes later, Bohane swept home Bennett’s pass. At the end of the first half, another great score from Bohane saw Town take the lead. Only three minutes in the second half Bennett’s goal stretched Bracknell’s lead. Robins continued to enjoy the better of the game until finally Bennett’s brace in 86th minute sealed their victory. Bracknell will play their next match in this league on Saturday, 20 January, against Abingdon United. Robins are currently fifth on the League Table with 53 points, 17 points behind but still in hot pursuit of the Hellenic League’s leaders Highworth Town.

Finally, Kensley Maloney scored against Division 1 West leaders Ardley United in the match played last Tuesday to propel Bracknell closer to winning the Bluefin Sport Hellenic League Cup. The only goal of the game was scored during injury time and secured Bracknell Town, the competitions defending champions, a place in the quarter finals. This is the second time the two sides clash in an attempt to qualify for the League Cup quarters, after the original tie was postponed at the end of 2017. With neither side giving in, it looked like it was going to be another tie, until eventually Jamie McClurg’s free kick helped Maloney bring the ball home in the 92nd minute. Windsor, Abingdon United and Binfield already qualified for the last eight and four other contenders are yet to be decided.
